WHO WAS HORACE PIPPIN?
Horace Pippin (1888–1946) was a self-taught American artist and World War I veteran whose paintings are celebrated as some of the most important examples of American folk art. His work is admired for its bold colors, strong lines, and honest depictions of everyday life in the early 20th century.
During World War I, Pippin served with the Harlem Hellfighters and was shot in his dominant arm, earning a Purple Heart for his service. The injury left him partially disabled, but he eventually found a way to return to painting—using his weaker arm to guide his stronger one.Today, Horace Pippin is remembered as a pioneering African American artist.

Just so you know, the print is unframed.
