Who was Helen Hyde?

Helen Hyde (1868–1919) was an American printmaker best known for her woodblocks inspired by Japanese art. Born inNew York, Hyde initially trained as a painter in the United States before continuing her studies in Europe. However, it was her time in Japan (where she lived for nearly fifteen years) that profoundly shaped her artistic identity. Her prints often depict tender scenes of mothers and children, everyday domestic life, and seasonal imagery, rendered with a quiet intimacy and refined sense of design.

Frames

Crafted from solid, hand-stained wood and delivered ready to hang, our box framed prints measure 20mm on the front face, with a 33mm depth from the wall for a clean, contemporary shadow-line look. A specialist wax finish brings out the natural grain and warmth of the wood.
