Paul Signac
1863-1935 | French
A French painter and theorist, Paul Signac was a leading figure in the development of Neo-Impressionism and a close collaborator of Georges Seurat. He helped pioneer the technique of Pointillism, using small, distinct dots of color to create luminous, harmonious compositions. Signac’s vibrant seascapes, landscapes, and city views reflect both his love of sailing and his fascination with color theory. Through his writings and advocacy, he profoundly influenced the direction of modern painting in the early twentieth century.
