Who was Zygmunt Waliszewski?

Zygmunt Waliszewski (1897–1936) was a post-impressionist and avant-garde artist associated with the Kapist movement, also known as the Colourists. A major figure in Poland art, Waliszewski studied in Kraków before moving to Paris, where he was influenced by Cézanne, van Gogh and Matisse. After impressionism, Waliszewski was shaped by a broad spectrum of art movements – particularly Russian Futurism – developing his own distinct, pan-European style.
