Who was Roman Kramsztyk?

Inspired by Paul Cezanne, Roman Kramsztyk (1885-1942) was a Polish artist with a talent for creating large, characterful portraits. He lived a full life – competing in the Olympics and moving to Paris – before he was shot dead in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1942. While this print is a vintage reproduction, it has a timeless, modern quality that feels very contemporary.
