Who was Lyubov Popova?
Lyubov Popova (1889–1924) was a Russian avant-garde artist best known for her pioneering work in Cubo-Futurism and Constructivism. Trained in both Russia and Western Europe, Popova absorbed influences from modern movements such as Cubism and Futurism before developing a distinctive abstract style. Popova died in 1924 at the age of thirty-five from scarlet fever, only days after the illness claimed the life of her young son.
